We Have Fast Recovery Times
What Are They
Wisdom teeth are four molars located at the back of your mouth, which usually grow in around your late teens/early twenties. But not everyone’s jaw has room for them. When wisdom teeth start to appear where there is not enough room, it can cause pain, especially when they start to push up against neighbouring teeth.
What Symptoms
This is called an impacted wisdom tooth. Its symptoms can be anything from rear mouth or jawline pain to a pressure or pain in the ears, as well as swelling or fever. An accurate diagnosis is essential. If you think you are experiencing symptoms of an impacted wisdom tooth, you should contact your dentist for a diagnosis.
What Technology
At Finer Smiles® Laser Dentistry, our state-of-the-art laser technology
allows our dentist to properly and accurately assess the movement of your wisdom teeth. Laser technology also allows for a far less painful experience and a dramatically shorter recovery time, through quick healing, so there is no need to fear the dentist.
What We'll Do
After an assessment is complete, you'll be booked for the extraction procedure, which will be carried out onsite at our Maribyrnong location. We rarely need an oral surgeon, and often you won't need stitches because of our laser technology. You won't need a general anaesthetic and the procedure will take less than a day.
When Come In
To plan for a healthy future, it can be a good idea to get younger family members’ wisdom teeth checked for any potential impaction. Quite often, our dentists can identify potential issues and advise removing wisdom teeth well in advance, so the disruption to everyday life is minimised even further and the procedure is easier.
